The Fu Style Internal Martial Arts System, Wudang Quan, was created by Master Fu's grandfather, Fu Zhensong, one of the Five Northern Tigers. Fu Style is characterized by strong yet supple movement of the hips and waist; the forms use twisting and leaning to open up the hips, waist and shoulders.
Fu Style is unique among the internal arts for its emphasis on full-body movement. Whether your focus is health or self-defence, the system — Tai Chi Quan, Liang Yi Quan, Ssu Hsiang Quan, Hsing Yi Quan, Pa Kua Zhang, and further fist and weapon sets — offers physical benefits not easily found elsewhere.
Master Victor Shenglong Fu began training with his father at the age of five and competed throughout his childhood, winning gold at the Guangdong Provincial Youth Tournament at thirteen. In 1984 he became a member and director of the Guangzhou Municipal Wudang Boxing Research Society, in 1985 a committee member of the Guangzhou Municipal Wushu Association, and in 1988 he was confirmed as a Wushu judge by the Guangzhou Municipal Sports Committee.
In 1989 Master Fu moved to Vancouver and opened his school to teach the health and wellness principles of Fu Style. He continues to teach in Vancouver and at several long-term senior care facilities around the city.
